Alarming CDC Report: 1 in 10 Teen Girls Reported Being Raped: Teen girls were twice as likely as boys to attempt suicide, and face alarming rates of violence, trauma and cyberbullying, according to the CDC. In 2021, almost a third of high school girls said they seriously considered suicide, which is a 60 per cent increase compared to 10 years previously. The report covered the period between 2011 and 2021. Nearly 15 per cent of teenage girls reported having been forced to have sex – a rise of 27 per cent over the course of a two-year period and the first increase since the federal agency started tracking it.
