What Korea discovered about the Moon: One half of the Moon is more electrically conductive than the other, according to measurements from a South Korean spacecraft. The Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter, nicknamed Danuri, has been studying the Moon since beginning its orbit last December. Scientists speculate that the far side of the Moon is hotter, or perhaps contains more water in its interior than does the near side. Among the observations reported at the meeting were the results of the gamma-ray spectrometer aboard Danuri. This instrument measures high-energy electromagnetic radiation coming from the lunar surface, which can reveal the chemical make-up of the minerals there.

Congress scraps provision to declassify information about UFOs, aliens: Congress dropped a provision to release government secrets about unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) from the National Defense Authorization Act. The move came as a big disappointment for Democrats and Republicans who want the government to share more of what it knows regarding aliens. “The United States government has gathered a great deal of information about UAPs over many decades but has refused to share it with the American people,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said. “That is wrong, and additionally, it breeds mistrust.”
