5th Circuit hands Texas another win on immigration, ruling DACA is unconstitutional: The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a Texas federal judge’s ruling that the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program is unconstitutional. The program, created by a Department of Homeland Security memo in 2012, prevents some foreign nationals who were illegally brought into the U.S. as children from being deported. It initially applied to roughly 800,000 individuals.

Pandemic Struggles Still Afflict Social Security, a Last Lifeline for Many: The long queues have raised tempers and safety concerns. One person fainted in line outside the office in Laredo, Tex. Others in Florida slept outside overnight to secure a spot for the next morning. Social Security’s remedy is to push customers to get help by phone or online, but fast service using those options, for many, is proving just as elusive.

‘Great resignation’? ‘Quiet quitting’? If you’re surprised by America’s anti-work movement, maybe you need to watch more movies: “It’s real hard to be free,” Jack Nicholson’s character in “Easy Rider” says, “when you are bought and sold in the marketplace.” Many workers today can relate: Stressful work environments, unfulfilling roles and the inability of paychecks to keep up with the rising cost of living have spurred some of them to reevaluate their relationship with their employers.

The Attack on the Pipeline and the Resurrection of the Morgenthau Plan as the Long Arm of Jewish Vengeance: Historically, the attack fit into the pattern of Anglo-American foreign policy. In spite of the fact the mainstream media were united in blaming Russia, only the Americans had the motive and the means. The evidence was circumstantial but irrefutable. Biden said in no uncertain terms that if Russia invaded the Ukraine, America would take out the Nordstream pipelines.

The Real Reason Of Mice And Men Became A Banned Book: There is an issue with language that was deemed profane. This profanity included racism, sexual content, and the characterization of mentally disabled people. However, when writing about two men — one of whom, Lennie, is mentally disabled — taking menial jobs across the United States during The Great Depression in the hopes of eventually achieving the American dream, the language conveyed the reality of the situation and portrayed the characters honestly.
