30 tons, or 60,000 pounds of ammonium nitrate, which are explosive chemical pellets, were being carried by train from Wyoming to California, have mysteriously disappeared during a rail trip from Cheyenne to California. On April 12, a railcar carrying the chemical, used both as a fertilizer and an explosive, left on a two week trek to Saltdale, California. Once it arrived, the railcar was empty. U.S.’s Largest Lobbying Group Sues to Stop Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Plan: The group is suing to stop Medicare from being able to access lower drug prices. The U.S.’s largest lobbying group, the conservative U.S. Chamber of Commerce, has become the second prominent group to file a lawsuit to stop a plan for Medicare to be able to negotiate the prices for a handful of drugs, joining pharma giant Merck in alleging that the plan is unconstitutional.
