Border chief: Mexican cartels use drones to identify law enforcement locations: In the past year, there have been more than 10,000 drone incursions flown by Mexican cartels operating in Mexico and in Texas in the Rio Grande Valley Sector of south Texas, Rio Grande Valley Sector Chief Gloria Chavez testified Tuesday before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. The cartels are using the drones to identify where state and federal law enforcement officers are to avoid them and engage in criminal activity, she explained.

Border chief: Majority illegally entering Tucson Sector are single military age men: What’s portrayed on national television about large family groups with small children claiming asylum at the southern border isn’t what’s happening in the Tucson Sector of Arizona, Border Patrol Chief John Modlin testified on Tuesday before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. “The most notable factor that sets Tucson apart from the rest of the southwest border is the migrant demographic. It is not what you see on the news,” he said.

Border patrol presentation reveals plan to release illegal crossers en masse into U.S. communities: Roughly six weeks before testifying Tuesday before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, Chief Border Patrol Agent Gloria Chavez held a meeting with local law enforcement in Weslaco, Texas, describing the administration’s plan to release en masse illegal foreign nationals into the U.S. when Title 42 ended.

Lack of border security is impacting local Arizona law enforcement: As a former law enforcement officer from Southern Arizona, I have seen first-hand the direct impact failed border policies have on local communities and police departments: Due to lack of federal resources and policy changes made by the Biden administration, Border Patrol agents have been pulled away from the line of defense where they would normally be interdicting cartel operatives and smugglers, to instead process foreign nationals. As a result, local police agencies are engaging in more drug interdiction cases on top of their normal caseload.

What is the World Economic Forum? The World Economic Forum (WEF) plays a significant role in guiding international developments in the interests of the business community. They invite the most powerful people in the world to an annual conference in Davos, Switzerland, to discuss their dreams of the future. These are dreams where the powerful stay powerful, and the underclasses continue to toil and suffer.

Deep Seabed Mining Plans Pit Renewable Energy Demand Against Ocean Life in a Largely Unexplored Frontier
As companies race to expand renewable energy and the batteries to store it, finding sufficient amounts of rare earth metals to build the technology is no easy feat. That’s leading mining companies to take a closer look at a largely unexplored frontier – the deep ocean seabed. A wealth of these metals can be found in manganese nodules that look like cobblestones scattered across wide areas of deep ocean seabed. But the fragile ecosystems deep in the oceans are little understood, and the mining codes to sustainably mine these areas are in their infancy.

California’s pesticide notification system aims to protect public health. Will it work? Activists were instrumental in achieving the landmark program. They worry it won’t go far enough to shield rural communities and farmworkers from pesticide harm.

Even with legal protections, extreme heat and wildfire take a toll on farmworkers: Nearly half of workers in California say their farms are not in compliance with safety codes for extreme weather, survey finds. Mass shootings at two California mushroom farms last month drew national attention to the dismal working and living conditions imposed on California farmworkers. Surveys of California Terra Garden and Concord Farms, where the assailant had worked, revealed families living in trailers and shipping containers, using makeshift kitchens and portable toilets. State and federal officials have opened investigations into the farms, where workers reported earning below minimum wage.

He Paid $1 Million For Destroying Wetlands. Now He’s Fighting Clean Water Rules In Congress: Rep. John Duarte (R-Calif.) paid a hefty fine for plowing federally protected streams and wetlands on his farm. He now sits on the House subcommittee with jurisdiction over water resources.

State of the Union Erupts as Biden and GOP Trade Barbs. McConnell Says ‘State Of Our Union Is Under Chinese Surveillance’: “Over the last several days, the country learned that on President Biden’s watch, the state of our union is apparently under Chinese surveillance from our own skies,” McConnell said in a Tuesday speech. “It’s ludicrous to suggest that Canada and the United States had no choice but to let this thing traipse across the continent from coast to coast.” McConnell slammed the Biden administration’s past military budget requests and warned of looming problems with China.

Republicans Are Angry at Joe Biden for Accurately Describing Plan to Sunset Social Security: In early 2022, Florida Sen. Rick Scott, the chair of the Republican Senate campaign arm, released what he called an “11 Point Plan to Save America.” One year later, one specific dim element of that plan—a proposal that all laws, including Social Security and Medicare, would expire in five years unless reapproved—is still coming back to haunt Republicans.

US Hybrid War on Iran Stalling? Will the neocon decision to fight Russia, Iran, and China all at once go down as one of the most boneheaded strategic moves in history? Empire poised to lose on two fronts at once, but at least we shot down that *&#! Chinese balloon!
https://www.veteranstoday.com/2023/02/07/us-hybrid-war-on-iran-stalling/

Balloon incident shows ‘deep distrust’ between US and China, could yield ‘treasure trove’ of intel, experts say:
The Pentagon said it’s a spy balloon, but China said it was a weather balloon. Officials expect the debris collected offshore will reveal more information about it. Sailors assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group 2 recover portions of a Chinese surveillance balloon off the coast of Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Feb. 5, 2023. A U.S. fighter jet shot down the balloon over U.S. territorial waters Feb. 4, 2023. Active-duty troops and Reserve, National Guard, and civilian personnel along with partners from the Coast Guard, Federal Aviation Administration and FBI took part in recovery efforts.

Russia Controls One Third Bakhmut, Ukraine Losses Unsustainable, US Arms Deliveries Dwindle: Ukraine continues to crumble, and we should blame the power that is ruling both the Biden government and much of the Zionist empire. Decent Ukrainians didn’t sign up for this.

Note: [This is something I would like to do on my little 1/2 acre. Money is always the stopper. There just isn’t enough to go around anymore.] For the housing market’s greenest buyers, ‘Earthships’ are taking off: Long dismissed as hippie havens, off-grid communities are getting a fresh look as wasteful construction practices come under scrutiny.  “We build according to six principles,” Reynolds sums up his philosophy. “Passive thermal heating and cooling, power from the sun and wind, contained sewage treatment, building with recycled and natural materials, harvesting rainwater, and growing your own food.” These principles also explain why the architect with the gray tousle-head calls them earthships: Just like on a ship, the inhabitants have almost everything they need, independent of their surroundings.
